June 2nd Already?

Is my calendar right? Is it really June 2nd? What happened to May? I mean, all we've done since the last post was a Beach Retreat, a Work Day / Car Wash, Mother's Day, VBS Ladies' Workday, Girls' Night, Praise & Worship Service, Prince Caspian Movie, Graduate Recognition Dinner, Memorial Day, Youth Group at the Burns, Two Graduations, and a Short Term Missions Steak Supper and Auction! How could it possibly be June 2nd already? I'm glad all we've got in June is a goodbye party for A.K., VBS, a sermon and a Praise & Worship Service, Ridge Haven Camps, Youth Group at the Berry's, and a Mission Trip to get ready for.
July is the real kicker. You see, after returning from the mission trip to Bay St. Louis, MS on Saturday, July 5th, we'll be driving to RYM in Panama City, FL on Monday, July 7th. Which reminds me: Final payments for RYM are due by Monday, June 30th. The week after RYM, we've got a music camp scheduled. On the 16th, we've got a mid-summer cookout and Short Term Missions Report. Another Praise & Worship Service on the 20th, and I'll preach on the 27th. Then, it's "Family Vacation Time!" - Orlando, if anyone's wondering. A trip to the Lego store, Sea World, and possibly a day at the Magic Kingdom. What summer! What a life. Kind of makes you wonder how we'll get around to being still and knowing that God is God. What about you? How's your summer looking? Pray for us, and we'll pray for you - that in the hustle and bustle of ministry and life, we won't forget to take some time to remember that God is still God, and we are not. To Him be the glory, both now and forever. Amen.

I figure its about time someone leave a comment on this blog. As far as busy goes, add most of the church events you have listed, and then add the secular work world to all of that. Yes, I do wonder how we find time for our own families today, much less God. I'm sure, truth be told, most of those in "the church" simply do not find time for God, much less those outside the church who could give a rip about the things of God. One thing never seems to change though ... the world staying busy. So unless it changes tomorrow,I guess we who call ourselves "the Church" better figure out how to find time for God.

"For it is appointed for man to die once, then comes judgment." (Heb. 9:27)

Andy-
We enjoyed Praise and Worship last night as the youth hosted. It is so wonderful to see such young people be so mature in Christ. Their testimonies of RYM makes me want to be a teen all over again and have the opportunities that they do. We appreciate the devotion that the Newell family has given to Trinity - we are so blessed to have you here in Orangeburg.

I love the challenge you gave us last night to do something for others that you do not expect recognition in return.

PS- loving the blog!
